Well guys I think I chickened out on the switch pitch so I am going to order a Custom Continental 10" Jim Hand converter. Just did not want to deal with any issues with the switch pitch and no local tranny guys wanted anything to do the the SP conversion. So this convertr is said to feel like pretty much like a stock converter at cruise and moderate throttle in put but will flash 3200 behind a 455 in a heavy car. So should flash around 2900-3000 behind my 408 sbc. I need something tight at cruise because of the 3.55's and GV overdrive. I will give an update on how it performs when its installed in the car.

Sounds good! I cant wait to get it in. Might do a hyd roller cam swap at the same time if the coin is available.

What size rear tires grandville??? If there 28's your only getting about 6% slip. Thats what I am looking forward too!

I ordered mine from Cliff Ruggles but talked to Kris about what I wanted as well. Super nice guy...both of them! My goal is not to loose anying over my current BTE 3500 but gain alot of street manners at part throttle/overdrive.
With only 6% slip I might pick up some MPH as well!

Well...I got the converter in and my car up and running again. I must say I LOVE this converter! It feels like a damn stock converter under normal driving conditions. But......if you put some skinny pedal to it...wham it flashes right up to 3200+. I can now feel all my shifts and when the GV is engaged its nice and tight. I could not be happier. Now I need to get it to the track and see if its better or worse. But it sure feels better...I think it will MPH more.

I have a Continental in Mighty Mouse

he hit the combo dead on the first time, I wouldn't think of sending it back to be tweaked

I just switched to a 26" tire and with my deeper 2.75 gear set in the trans.with that gear set change and the smaller tire it makes the effective 1st gear a 4.08! instead of with the old gear set and 28" tires it was 3.42 and it loves it as the 60 ft shows . i just pulled a 1.78 60 ft!! still at 4600 pds!! the car is going through at 4800rpms 6% slippage!!

Nice...you got that big beast movin out of the hole! If mine wont do what I want it to do then I will add a bit more rear gear. Something around 3.73-3.89's.

Yeah....its nice and tight up top! I think I could use a bit more gear. Might swap to some 3.73's-3.89's. I would like to get the car to 60 foot in the high 1.5 to low 1.6 range.
