Right now on eBay there is a Consolette for sale that includes the upper shifter boot. Item Number 130373366126.

The auction for this item ends on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 20:14:05 PDT.

That's 8:14 p.m. California time for you civilians; 6:14 p.m. in the Midwest and 4:14 p.m. back east.

High bidder. Although I am sure I will be outbid. Looks like damage on the bottom?

Thanks, George, and I hope you win it.

That damage on the bottom looks like corrosion, some kind of rotting away of the cast pot metal. It's a shame but you know how difficult it is to find a consolette.

George, a week or so ago The Waverly Family had just the top half of a consolette listed on eBay as a Console. I examined their Item Number 370340832001, still showing today 03-11-2010, they were asking $799 for the opening bid and no one, but NO ONE even bid on it. I suggested to the owner that the name be changed to consolette and the price be cut to much less. No response was received to my messages.

I am very fortunate to have three consolettes including the one that a co-worker just GAVE to me. He removed it from his 1970 GS during May, 1971 and placed it in the attic. Recently he dug it out and gave it to me along with a lot of other stuff taken off the car at the time. Amazing.

That consolette includes the chrome plated upper shift boot retaining ring, the upper shift boot, the black lower retaining ring for the upper shift boot, and the three clips holding everything to the top of the consolette.

Another friend, a mechanical engineer, is working with me to produce the rings. We have them in the AutoCad and ProE state on the computer and are going to have some laser-cut this weekend.

I also want to reproduce the consolette. I was thinking of making fiberglass units or maybe resin castings.

You have a slick looking car there, George. My first car was a 1969 Buick GS purchased in April, 1974, GS 350 four-speed, Crystal Blue Poly, black vinyl top and black deluxe interior, bucket seats and consolette. 1969 is my favorite.

Thanks again for the posting, take care.

Thanks. The consolette I need for the 'other' car- factory Stage 1 4 speed that was an original D57 consolette car. The consolette was sold by the previous owner to off set the cost of the car. I now need to dig up a decent one :beers2: .
Please let me know if you have a price in mind on ANY of the three :TU:
