I've seen this in magazines and such, it said it restores compression. I can't remember the name and don't have any magazines laying around and a search on the internet came up fruitless. I was wondering what its called, where I can get it, and if it really works?

    Thanks!

I believe the can says "Restore" on it. I have seen it Murray's. It seems to help stop oil burning, so in that respect I guess it would restore some lost compression due to better sealing. I don't believe it lasts that long, maybe 600 - 1000 miles!

I bought a can of that stuff (silver tin can), poured it in with the oil and nothing happend for about 20 miles, then, smoke show. I don't mean I restored so much compression I could burnout, I mean it just started smoking horribly. After driving it around with tons (and I mean tons!) of smoke coming out, I just let it idle in the driveway until it stopped (which took forever). The motor never felt quite right after the restore stuff, slugging and bogging quite a bit. It was in a '86 chevy truck with a 350 but I don't think that should matter much. It was pretty funny when I first noticed it, me and my little brother were driving down a road out in the country and he turns to me and says "what's all that smoke from?" so I look in the mirror and there's clouds of smoke covering the road for 500 feet behind us, after an "aww crap", we get back to town and cross a major intersection amongst many beeping cars (from people stopped at the intersection as we went across it). I don't plan on using it again anytime soon.

I have used "Restore" several times without any problems.
