Compression Question

Ok guys, here's a quick question for ya. I just got my hands on some ultra-light aluminum 11:1 pistons for my 401. To cut a long story short, i was wondering what kind of gas would be required to run this. I'm hoping to be able to run off 94 (that's the highest around here), and at worst case 94 + an octane booster. Higher octane fuel just isn't accessible for me where i'm at. I've have had some people tell me that 11:1 is too high no matter what is done with the rest of the engine, others told me it's borderline, and can be done on pump gas. I figured i'd ask someone who might know something about the Nailhead, rather than SBC guys. I'd be running a hotter cam (similar to poston's NH-500), so that may help bleed some of the pressure, and milling the deck to make it less sensitive to pre-detonation if needed would be done. But i'd figured i'd ask and get some more input rather than put everything together and see that 11:1 is just too much for my needs. Any input is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brett

Why not rework the heads? Unshroud the valves for better flow this will enlarge the combustion chamber and lower the compression and increase flow of fuel air mixture. ?
