only do .035 to be safe thats what i did on one of mine. if you go real crazy the water pipe with the thermostat housing that goes to each head could get miss alined. that stuff your doing is way over my head, but its neat.

That cam should work well..... with 109 degree lobe centers and about 209 deg duration, the intake will close early enough to keep the Dynamic CR higher. A custom cam with more exhaust duration would be a nice upgrade.

I made a simple fixture to measure piston cc..... 1" thick plexiglass, used a router to make a cavity, 1/2" deep. The round opening fits around the dome and seals on that machined outside edge. Used a flat plate on it to measure volume of cavity (100cc). Then replace flat plate with piston and refill. Both my stock 401 and replacement Zollner pistons were a bit over 46 cc. A TRW was 45.3 and a Ross was 44.4 cc.

never thought of the plexiglass deal that would be simple...My buddy has a cam grinding shop out here so I was gonna give him a couple cores and regrind me a stock profile but add some duration on the exhaust those small ports can use it... he has all the old delong cam profiles so Iam gonna look thru and see what they did back then but most likely it will be stock with more exhaust duration....thanks again

That is going to be one sweet Skylark. Are you going to take it to sac raceway once you're done?

    Are you on www.norcal1320.com ?
