I finally completed the brake system. New stainless steel lines, new stainless steel e-brake system. Rebuilt master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, rebuilt front calipers, new rotors, drums and bearings, proportioning valve (thanks George) shoes and pads. All except the dust covers for the front bearings (wrong size purchased).

I think everything is cool, spin the wheels, step on the brakes, wheels stop spinning. :TU: I am only questioning the amount of travel of the pedal, it is smooth but only goes approximately four inches or so. Does not go to the floor (good thing, I assume). I bled the system, all seems well. Siince the car will not be running for a while yet, is there anything I should check to make sure I don't have any problems down the road? Just trying to save myself down the line.

    Thanks.

It is good if it doesn't go to the floor (with the motor running). Just keep stepping on the brakes and see if you can find any leaks. Otherwise, you'll have to drive it to make sure it's okay.

I found three leaks while I was bleeding them, all fixed.

Some quick reverse stops will help you get the rear drum adjustment handled, you may well see pedal travel decrease once that happens.

I was more concerned with the lack of pedal movement. I am hoping to have the motor done by the summer so that it can move under its own power by then.

Len once you apply vacuum to the booster, I would think the pedal should drop a bit more

Is your camera broken? lets see some pics! Show off all that hard work!

For about 160 something plus shipping I can get you a Delco booster with new plating and no pits.

Had I known earlier I probably would have got one from you. The photo really makes it look worse than it is. I can live with it...for now.

Depending on how much I spend on the engine (and if I don't have to pay child support and alimony before I am done with this monster) I might replace it before I send the body out for paint.

Is my picture still on your wife's dart board? Or has it been replaced by your picture?

I think she hired a hit man for you....I still need to support all my kids. If they would only eat once a week I would be fine. I spend over $250 per week to feed these guys. What ever happened to PB & J??? Macaroni and cheese??? :Do No:

I need to find a bigger folder to hide all my bills in, I can't close my toolbox anymore.
