I have been thinking about what to order to Bowling Green. I have a Year One catalog with Comp Cams pushrods in them. For $35 they seem like a good buy, but I want to ask the opinion of people that may have used them. So, if you have used them, please write what you think about them.

Steve - The pushrods are one of the last items to order/buy for an engine. You need to have everything mocked up, so you can measure how long of a pushrod you'll end up needing.

Once you do that, decide whether you want custom length pushrods or adjustable units. If you're going to use adj. roller rockers - then you can just go with custom length pushrods.

dumb question, but if you're using stock-style lifters and rockers, why would the pushrod length change? wouldn't the valves stems have to be cut or the valvetrain otherwise modified to affect it?

Shaving heads or decking the block could have an effect on it. Am I right?

you have some play in the pushrod that the hydralic lifter will adjust for when they are to tight, and we know what happens when they are to loose. so you want them adjusted just right to get the most horsepower. if they are to tight your moter will probaly run fine but you could be loosing a lot of horsepower and not know it. thats the advantage of adjstable pushrods, and or roller rockers.
