Are you running headers or factory manifolds? Stock intake, or dual quads? Also, has anything been done to the heads? What's your compression ratio and carb setup? The more info you can give me, the more accurate the program will be.
Andy, I'm starting to have fun with this program.....after finally figuring out how to chart multiple combos on the same graph. Great way to compare cams. Andy, I got some numbers to punch in for you, its a Comp roller I just got. intake exhaust gross valve lift .527 .537 lobe lift .340 .347 duration @ .006 281 287 @.050 230 236 valve timing open close @50 int 9 btdc 41 abdc ext 52 bbdc 4 atdc these specs are for a cam installed @ 106 intake center line factory 2 for intake with 2 carter 625s, slight head port job., headers. thanks, mike
gessler level 3 heads mild porting 218 intake flow, 136 ex flow at 600 lift . 2x4 with 600 carbs, ta headers , 9.85 compression.
~375hp @ just under 5000rpms, ~465ft lbs tq from 2500-3500rpms. I think springing for Gessler's level 4 heads would yield at least an additional 25hp, if not more. I'd love to see some flow numbers for those...
Hi Andy here ya go. home ported heads at .600-238cfm ex 160cfm poston nh 400 cam but with the telesco rockers I think I am at about .550 intake lift and 560 ex. This is a 218 intake at .50 and 228 ex. 114 lobe center Gsca headers elco 2x4 with 750 front carb and 600 rear 2.5 inch exh. with a x Standard bore 401 Anything else ya need?
Assuming a 9.9:1 compresison ratio, your combo should yield ~400hp @ 5000rpms, and ~480ft lbs tq @ 3500rpms.
Andy, what numbers are you getting for the bone stock setup? I want to see if I'm getting the same results as you are.
Hi All: Being a non-internal-combustion ex-spurt - I'd sort of like to pose a question hereabouts: I've a standard 322 Nailhead. What are my HP and TQ expectations ? And, of course, having a lead foot - what can I do to get this Super "Excited" some time next year ? Any and all advice is sincerely solicited and gratefully accepted. :Smarty: I know I have to cut out my old floor pans and weld in some new ones, kill all the mice coming up thru the holes - THEN I can pay a mechanic to SOUP UP the 322... Walt, I'm going to shoot you a PM. Rip, I'm not sure I'll be able to come up with an acurate estimae as I don't have any flow numbers for a set of 322 heads. Without those I'd just be throwing out random numbers.

I'm not aware of any legit places you can download this. I downloaded my copy over 5 years ago. Assuming the following specs; 401, mildly ported heads (similar to Gessler's level 3), factory 9.9:1 compression ratio, 850cfm carb on a dual plane intake, headers, and your cam... ~380hp @ 5000rpms, and 430ft lbs tq @ 3500-4000rpms. According to the program, a bone stock 401 should produce ~280hp @ 3500rpms and ~460ft lbs tq @ only 2000 rpms.
Thanks :beers2: Well, my engine push out with milder TA-25 cam,750cfm Edel and with very bad flow megaphone headers 302hp.So with bigger cam,ported heads and better headers i think it gonna be in near of same area what your dyno program shown. I will try to get about 410-420hp from my 425.Expensive and hard head works,but have to try.
It's all in the heads. If you could get them ported to flow 240cfm intake/160cfm exhaust, I'm pretty confident you could get over 420hp. I'm thinking to get that kind of flow, you'd need something like Gessler's level 4 porting, and have him concentrate/get a little agressive on the exhaust side of things. Supposedly Ed Mosler got a set of heads to flow 247cfm/188cfm. That's pretty stout :TU: .
