    Hello everyone,

I am currently interested in purchasing a 64 skylark convertible with a 300-4 and three on the tree. The car has a bench seat up front and I was wondering what all is needed to convert the shifter from the column to the floor.

Obviously I'll have to buy a floor shifter, but how do the linkages work with that floor shifter? Will I need to find used parts on ebay, or do they sell a kit somewhere?

    Thanks,

    Jin

    Bald Menace,

Thanks for your reply and pic. I guess I'll either have to live with the three on the tree, or eventually do a tranny swap. I was just looking for a quick fix to change it to the floor, but obviously thats not really an option.

Check with a speed shop, there may be an aftermarket style floor shift conversion kit for your application. It will have a bracket system that uses the tailhousing to main case bolts to attach to. They come with shifter rods and all paarts to convert with. Be sure to buy quality!
