    Hello Guys / Gals, I've got a 72 Buick Skylark, and It's got a colum shift / TH400 Transmission.
I've recently acquired a 70-72 GS Console / Floor Shifter etc.

How hard is this to convert and what is all required ? Or is it pretty straight forward ?

    Look forward to your responses.

    Hey Larry,
    Thanks for the reply.
So just to be clear, I'm new to this, so your explanations / expertise is a big help here! My 72 skylark with colum shift, once I remove the shifter cable from the colum / transmission and remove the column arm (shifter arm) itself (There will be that knub there), I'm ok with that for this year (finances permitting), I'm just looking to get what I can done. So I'll remove my interior (New carpet going in anyway) and I'll mount my shifter (using sheet metal screws) as you indicated.
I recently changed my transmission pan, and I didn't see a cable mount (Likely because it was a column shift car), so am I going to need to buy one or will just the shorter shifter cable do (floor shift to trans)? Or am I going to need to acquire the trans cable bracket and does that mount to the pan or side of trans ? Look forward to your reply.

    Thanks,
