DL, The goofy pointed one is correct too. Check the assembly manual and it shows two optional part numbers.

Yes the one in the two photo's is an original from the factory and this is what was used up until sometime early in 72. And then the 3958198 showed up. Neither are available; but there are reproductions of both. I don't have to look very close to tell it is a reproduction. Same thing is true for the E brake pad.

The photo of the one for the 64-72 on page 87 (CB64) with the horizontal lines looks the most correct I have seen. I wonder if that is what you get or is just a correct photo of an original pad. All reproductions I have seen have a different number of horizontal ribs then the one with the photo of 4 ribs on top and 4 ribs on the bottom. Also the originals have a indented strip around the perimeter, which the photo appears to have; but all reproductions I have seen do not have. And then there is the part number embossed on the back side.

The 1363611 was used on the 64 chevelle as the brake and clutch pedal pad. It was replaced by the 3858198 in 1965 that was used up until 72 in the chevelle and I think other gm A bodies. Then that pad was replaced by the 3958198.

Maybe someone has a 64 with an original brake or clutch pad that they would have a photo off.

Jim, The Olds uses one of the same part numbers as the Buick so I hope they got it right. Someone needs to be the Guinea pig. I am going to order a set and see how they look. At least if I find out if the one I have is incorrect you guys cannot laugh at me for too long.

I checked a number of olds assembly manuals from 1965-1972, all used 3858199. I don't have any manuals from 73 and 74; but the 75 manual showed 3993614 for 1975. No manual from 64; but the 63 manual showed 579150 and 680179.

Dave, Could you post a good photo of the one you ordered from Fusick when they arrive? Thanks.

Guys, I got them today and they look to be a really nice looking reproduction and is exact to original on the front. The back is a bit different but no big deal. The rubber appears to be a little less rigid however. I will try and post pics in next day or two.

Why did you switch to the more common style on your car Dave? I thought your car, like mine came with the less common type? Or do I have the wrong ones on my car?

Jason, I am beginning to doubt myself on the ones we have now from what the other guys are saying with the part numbers. With these new ones no one can say I am wrong now. Funny thing is I had two sets of pedals including the one that came with the car that have the weird style. I also got one set with the style I just got. I think we need to see some more original cars pedals. I know where there is one I need to check.
