    Hi all

I in the middle of full frame up restoration on my 71 GS350 with 4sp. Like to know your experience on who to buy the correct fuel lines, brake lines, clip kit, gas tank, and sending unit.

    Thanks, George

Get the gas tank off ebay. Several vendors sell them. Last time I think A1 auto may have been the lowest.

Inline and ebay sells a line kit. They say it is correct but that is not so. The may fit but they must be off a Chevelle or something and they presume all A bodies are the same.

I like Classic Tube because of some trouble I had with Inline in the past not including all the parts in and order and then swearing they did in an attempt to avoid sending the part or a partial refund. But I know others who have used Inline without an issue.

No one sells the correct fuel lines. The only clip they have that is correct is the one blue one used for the brake line near the rear end. The three big ones that are on the drivers side and hold both fuel and one brake line are the most important. They are held by a spike and a screw. Find or use originals. They should be painted yellow. I found some on junkyard cars as mine broke.

I used FineLines in Wadsworth, OH and was very pleased with their quality.

There are plenty of people that have dealt with Inline Tube and had no problems.....BUT....those that have had problems with a part seem to never get a satisfactory resolution from them. They seem to have a real attitude problem when people contact them with a part that doesn't fit/is wrong/etc.

Will anyone's line slip in without so much as a twist or bend??? NO

I have used Fine Lines and Classic Tube and haven't had any problems with their products. Did the stuff fit "perfect"??....same answer as above.

Between those two I liked Fine Lines' products a little better. Didn't seem to have to tweak things as much for some reason to get them to fit.

BTW---read the prior posts closely...both Flyinbuick and 70GSConvert SAID THEY USED the products of certain vendors...in my book that qualifies as "real life experiences" that you asked for.

FineLines is about 10 minutes from my house. If you decide to go with them, I can pick the stuff up and bring it to Columbus if you're going down there and save you the shipping costs. Plus all these guys do bend this stuff to fit into a box. I would be able to bring it down in my truck just as it goes on your car.

Thanks for the offer, but I am not going to Columbus.

I am just thinking just cleaning my original fuel/brake line tubes and reinstalling them to avoid all the hassles of getting new one and not fitting! Now I will have to figure a way to clean them!

I am just wondering all the concourse cars around what manufacture of fuel or gas lines do they use? I would assume this is an everyday occurrence for them!

Not many concours car out there. We have a couple and as I indicated we have used Classic and Inline. As Phil says Inline in its mind has never made a mistake. An attitude problem is the correct desciption. For this reason I would buy from another vendor when possible.
