When I had the carb rebuilt, it was the one that came off a '73. Same carb number, but different choke assembly. Used it anyway, but still having trouble cold-starting. No matter what I do, just can't get choke to close properly. Can I just swap the choke assemblies between that and the original one by unscrewing them from the carb body? Or is that more complicated than it looks? Thought I'd ask before taking it off.

Are you talking about the choke therm? Do you have the correct Buick carb? If the choke Therm is attached to the carb it is an Oldsmobile style. Can you post a picture? Where is the part # you are talking about?

The choke will have a "lockout" feature. One effect of this feature is that the choke will not close unless the throttle is first moved to the WOT position and then returned to normal. This releases the lockout.
