What have you Q-jet racers found to be the best diaphram opening speed for best 60 foot time. I want to take a torch to my 1979 metal pull-off so I can straighten the tube and drill the restriction out for faster opening. I want a good diameter (.020, .022,.025???) to drill one time only then heat and re-curve the tube back in place.
My friend found an old one that opened quick (about 1.5 seconds) and his car really came alive on the launch.

We sell a pull-off for those with a straight tube and easy access to the restriction. We will also pre-set the opening rate for the customer on request. I use a reamer, not drill bits to do this. WAY too much variance in release time when drilling them out. For the pre-1975 carbs with the plastic pull-off, we have an adjustable pull-off for those. Release time is controlled by using an allen wrench........Cliff
