I need to install choke mechanism for my 70 gs 455stg 1. The engine has Stock 1970 intake, TA288-94H camshaft, and a 7043240 quadrajet carb 1973 year.
Please tell me the easiest way to get a stock or elctric choke. The intake have a blockoff plate now. Thnks :)

You will need to get the choke coil element that sits in the intake for that divorced choke system to work. It would connect to the carburetor with a rod. There are no good electric choke options for you.

You could go without a functional choke, just make sure you secure the choke in the full open position.

Thanks Mark. I Guess i must use a choke element for a 1970 year to fit the intake ? The carb is a 1973 year.
will the hoke element et enough heat wih t blocked heat channel in the intake ?

Your best option would be a 1975 or 1976 Buick 455 Quadrajet. They had hot air choke systems that can be converted to the electric choke. But if you don't have one of those available, you will need to use the original coil type. It won't get the amount of heat, but just adjust the rod so when it is warm, the choke flap is all the way open.
