Hey all, Steve here . How are things ? Chilli's feeling good her "chemo" is going well . Thanks for the prayers and the "Well Wishes " it means alot to the two of us . We're just taking it one day at a time . Chilli is back in touch with her twin brother . Thank God . There was a major misunderstanding but things are great now . So good news all around !!!!!! I don't know if there are any of you who are Native American/ Part Native American or have ties with any who are . Chilli is T'sa Lagi (pro. "Tus Leggy") Cherokee / Wyndot (pro. Wine-Dot) , and is very much in touch with her heritage. The Cherokee are one of the Tribes with a written language and have a Very strong belief system . They believe in the lord (Creator , Great Spirit ) and have their own 10 Commandments which are beautiful and very practical . In a "Nutshell" their commandments tell them to be part of the Greater Good , Take care of family ,friends , Respect their Elders , and Mother Earth . I'll find them and post them sometime if any of you are interested . Any way , This leads to a new developement . Her Eagle Feather was taken to the Sun Dance in Washington State 2 weeks ago . There were many prayers & songs that were offered on her behalf . Ther was also "Gifting" . These are very high honors in the Native American Culture . The Highest Honor was yet to come .......... Her best friend Betty who is a "Grandma" was taught how to make a Drum which she did make of Elk Hide , The Medicine Man ( Priest ) made the Beater from Deer & Buffalo Hide he then Blessed (Played ) the drum with a prayer to the Creator and also a Blessing and Prayer from him . He then did something quite unusual . He removed his Eagles Feather from the Ceremonial Pole ,( He had had it for many years and had been on the Ceremonial Pole for 1year and gifted it to her . He passed on a message to her saying her sickness is a "Temporary Inconvenience " and that she will pull through this . The strangest part , was she had been flat on her back for 2 weeks . I was doing some thing around the house and just mentioned in a passing thought that Betty should be home soon . Within an hour Betty called to tell us she was home and how much Chilli was missed at the Sundance . Chilli at this point was on her first day ot of bed and had no idea about the prayers and gifts that had been sent to her . We just looked at each other and shook our heads . I had a thought today..... With all the Religions in the world ... And being on Gods straight road .
