Hey guys, I trying to help my brother out with his 70 chevelle Malibu rebuild... I feel sorry for him, He don't have a buick!!!! ] Anyways, he's looking for 10 bolt 8.5 rearend gears.. somewhere in the 390's.. Running a hopped up 350 chevy... I know this is a Buick Place, but thought you all might have the resorces I don't...... Any help, Prices, used parts accepted....... \Thanks everyone.... Just wanna get one more chevy to the track for you all to slaughter... hahaha...
Just my .02, but if the '70 Malibu has been switched over to an 8.5 A-body rear, you would be best off going with new US Gear-Strange, US Gear-Torqueline, or Precision gearset. All are quality, & set up propperly should be quiet. If the 10 bolt in the Malibu is original, it will be an 8.2 Chevy c-clip rear. Gearsets for that particular rear jump from 3.73 to 4.11. A few cruiser type Chevy builders will spend the money on the 8.2 chevys, but used low ratio gears seldom show up in anything other than 4.56 ratio. :3gears: Roger
