I checked my ground wire and there seems to be nothing wrong. Do i have to drop the tank to get to the sender unit? Is there a way to find out what is wrong with the sender without dropping the tank? Is there any way to tell if the sender unit is bad other that the gauge not working?
Also, the clock in the car is not working either. Could these two be related?

To start off with Tom, the clock & sender are separate circuits. In the rear of the car, by the rear bumper you should be able to see a wire that goes to the sending unit on the tank. I'm pretty sure it's there. If not it may be facing the front of the car by the rear end. Wherever you finally find it, disconnect it & the gauge should go to full. Ground the wire going to the gauge to the front of the car & the gauge should go to empty.
