Appears to be a post model by the post between the door and 1/4 window.Looks to be a towing nightmare too.Tried that ....didn't work too well backwards.Just ask Dustin. Pat
in wisconsin, once it has that sticker you may tell an officer to meet you at that location and you may tow it away. i did it with a 66 gto. ran and drove. even was nice enough to get the info from the cop who's it was and called him. told me he would report it stole if i picked it up, gave him my name and number and told him i have it and if he wants it seen as how he wants to acuse me of theft. i would make it such and told him a $1000 for towing it. he reported it stole and the cop came over with a smile on his face and told me what happened and that he was fined $1800 for his acusation of me. cop said funny how you gave him your name and number and we crossed it on the report of the car and found out where it went. then he handed me the title that he took from the guy, the cop signed it in front of another one and it was a road driver then. call the cops and go for it.
I've never seen the rocker panel trim that extended behind the rear wheels back to the bumper. Was that an option (referring to Ted's picture above)?
Yes, option! I found that only on one 2 dr Custom and one 4dr Custom. Very rare! Looks like a regular Skylark on the trailer!
George, Was that an option on the GS too? Not to hijack the thread, but it would obviously be rare with the red stripes, etc... Put on the Super Sport style wheels, with the trim rings, and you'd have some pretty rare (yet not really desireable) options. Was there also a piece that went in front of the front wheels?
I believe that was a Custom-only option. Too bad the car is on the trailer, those Custom/GS rocker panels look to be in ok shape. Being a Custom, probably has a gage pack too! LOL! What a shame!
i have a71 custom parts car that has the extended rocker moldins and the upper door trim.i guess i better save that stuff.
I have a secret stash of about 5 sets of these rear rocker mouldings. I really like them. Check out my convertible, I installed a set on there. :TU:
Now how often do you see examples of your (my) first car ('70 skylark custom 2drHT) and second car ('83 Honda Civic HB) in the same (depressing) frame.........on the bright side, my first car still lives with me, while my second, I was told about five years ago, was junked!!!!!! BTW I'm in the market for a pair of those "custom rear quarter lower mouldings" for my Custom convt. if anyone can spare a nice set......:Brow: .....Sales Code W2 packaged with the upper peak mouldings on a Custom hardtop, or W5 by itself on Custom convert. only......
