Interested in a decent driver Centurion 'vert. They seem few and far between in this neck of the woods, but I'm really only looking in this region of the country at this time. Though I would consider trading the 68 for a nicer one... There's a local 73 for sale, but it's quite rusted and way more project than I have time for. o No:
I'm not sure I really want to part with mine, but... What are you looking to spend for one? To be mint, mine could use rear floors and has some bubbling on the fenders. I think the rust is bad, but I'm used to So. Cal. cars (which this was, but appears to of spent it's life in San Diego by the beach). Top is good, motor works fine. Rear window's need new guides but all the power window's work. Here is a quick thread on it. The paint is an old MAACO job and is starting to flake and crack :*( When I get my garage built I intend to start on the body work and paint, but that could be two or so years out. I have the number matching block if that's a concern to you, but it doesn't have near the oil pressure as the engine in the car now. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=201693 (Oh I just put two new front tires on it, rears are still good) The comments about drinking oil are about my Skylark. This car doesn't use any oil and occassionally has a drip (unless you use synthetic, then it leaks..)
The rust and paint issues, and distance, probably would be big obstacles. If I were to get my 68 sold next spring, that would certainly affect how much car I can shop for. I don't expect much to happen this fall/winter, bad time of year to get started shopping, but I wanted to get feelers out. I'm really hoping something will come up much closer to me.
I've seen a couple here in the Northwest lately.I'll try to find them again. Here's one really nice one. http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/2022150762.html 73 Buick Centurion-$11500.00 The Buick Centurion was made from 1971 through 1973, replacing the Buick Wildcat as the sporty rendition of Buick's full-size car. Visually the Centurion was nearly identical to the Buick LeSabre, but used the 455 in big-block V-8 and five-spoke "mag" wheels from the Buick Riviera GS. Body styles included two-door and four-door hardtops, and a very rare convertible. The convertible will be of particular interest to collectors with a total production of just 10,000 units over three model years. Total Centurion production was around 110,000 units. 1973 Buick Centurion with a 455ci engine fully loaded. A true Muscle Car. One owner, always garaged, yearly service inspections and well maintained.
Here's another nice one. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/2014394963.html 73 Buick Centurion-$8,000.00 1973 Buick Centurion convertible for sale, asking $8,000.00 or BEST OFFER. this car has a rebuilt 455ci engine, refurbished transmission, both with less than about 4,000 miles on them. The Quadra-Jet carb has been balanced to the freash engin with the proper jets and has been converted to an electronic ignition. This car also has a new high buck top with the glass rear window that has less than 10 miles in it. there is a 300 watt AM-FM sterio system, three speakers with the woofer in the back, plays cassette tapes and has a four disk CD player. As far as I know the car is all original and was rated by Bob Adams ( a well known car collector from Milwaukee, WI ) as being between a number 2 and a 2.5 condition and "well worth $11,000 on the market at that time (1996). The car was appraised at $11,800 to $13,900 based on the 2005 Cars and Parts price listing for classic cars and trucks. The car was evaluated by State Farm Insurance at a value of $14,500 in 2002. I was showing the car at the local meets until 2007. I have owned the car since 1996 but I am now forced to sell it because of health and eye sight.
Play it by ear. Who knows, for the right price I'd drive it to you, I love road trips, and fly home, North Dakota right? It's an awesome car for So. Cal. but our 9 months of winter here... not as good =/ I don't really want to sell it, but occassionally I have my moments of weakness when I think, "Do I really need a convertible when it snows Oct-June?"
Here is one in northern California. I have seen this 73 Centurion in person at a local car show and from first glance it looks like a very well maintained car. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/2021730077.html
Thanks guys, those are some nice leads. But my 68 will have to go before I could consider them. I'm hoping for some action next spring, preferably in the upper midwest.
David,LMK if you might be interested in a very nice 70 Skylark convertible. Located near Cleveland Oh. A friend plans on selling it not too far in the future.
Dave, I'd consider an A body at some point, but really I'm concentrating on a BBB Centurion at this time. :TU:

no doubt! plus shipping is cheap. That Silver/red one in OR looks nice. But I don't think your old enough for a BIG car yet....:bla:
Soon Don, very soon... Chris, you have a point. Though there IS one in town for sale. I just don't want to dump a small fortune into it. It's likely I'll need to travel to inspect something, but I can't do that now. Next spring/summer maybe. :beer
Yep, I saw that. Only a 'vert will do though. My desire for one is the only reason I'd let the 68 go for something else. I'll likely be putting it up for sale in the spring.
