Ceiling fan in small unheated garage = heat?

Our attached garage is not heated or insulated. Snow melts off over-night. You get a little heat from the house side.

Also, most of the snow will be melted away by the time you get home to put it in the garage, unless its a very short drive.

Mmmm.. thos little chocolate bottles sounds good. I'll have to try to find some around here. We don't have any CostCo's around here though.

Doug.... then I'd be asking questions like... "will a fan in my garage keep the huricane's away?" :Dou: :pp

From the majority of responses.... It sounds like the fan won't really do anything for me in theh garage. But it also sounds like I'll get the results I want just by having the garage attached to the house.
We'll just have to see how it goes once the snow flies.

not to sound too much like a geek but I am one.

ok... heating a garage for a driver isn't a good idea. cause yes the snow will melt and salt will turn to ice water then cause salt water and rust.... but at near freezing temps but not quite will have a slow chemical reaction with the steel. but you may see more problems at warmer garage tempatures. at my parents place the ice will be more slush and fall of the car when in the garage. and in their garage it is attatched to the house by 2 walls so some heat gets in there. They added a second layer of insulation in the attic though over the majority of the house but not the garage and the garage stays colder than ever. but still just above freezing (it's nice to keep pop out there in the winter)

the celing fan would be an intresting trick and could work. but mostly because it will keep the warmer air off the celing and better dispursed thruout the garage. the movement of air will infact create heat and may bump it up one degree or so. but like was mentioned very unlikely to make a diffrence.
