Carter Q-jet

    does anyone know any info about the Carter Q-Jet it looks nearly identical to the one on Buick Street it was on a 76 455. are these desierable carbs? how well can these be built.?

    Its just a Rochester carb made under license by Carter. I didn't know Carter was still doing that in '76, I thought most of the Carter-built Q-Jets were earlier.

    At any rate, the later Mod Quad style can be handy for performance use. The Edelbrock RPM Q-Jet was the Mod Quad style, for instance.

    First guess: It's as good as most any other Q-jet, probably better than some.

    I think I have a couple Pontiac carbs that were built by Carter. All my Buick ones, as far as I know, were built by Rochester.
