i bought a new carpet set for my 1969 buick g/s.the carpet had the pad glued onto the back so i assumed i did not need any more padding.this is the first car i have ever restored.noticed it was kinda loose on the hump so i added alittle more padding on the hump but it is still lose ,should i have bought a complete carpet pad that goes competly under the carpet or will the carpet laydown with time? thanks tom
I had that problem once on my 65. I bought carpet from JC Whitney. had about 1in space on the hump. never did lay down. I got my next set from OPG. laid down perfect.
Is sound deadener on floor? AC cars had an extra insulation pad under the fron floor area only with a foil backing. You can find similair foil backed stuff at stores like Pep Boys. Just do not go to crazy or it can intefere with gas pedal travel. What brand carpet did you use? They do settle in after some time.
