Im running a 4 hole 1'' spacer on my 462 with a SP1 and a 800 Qjet,i mainly use it to keep heat off the carb, it seams to pull harder over 5700 rpms with it on, i ussualy shift at 6000, but i dont have the hood clearance i want, so i want to go to a 1/2'' spacer, will a open spacer work as well as 4 hole???? or going to a 1/2'' make eney difference??? or does the fact that it runs better with it on,all in my head????

Any spacer is an improvement as it increases intake volume. Don't ask me what increased intake volume does though. More is always better!

I've been happy with my 1/2 inch open wood spacer from Moroso. Running a Q-jet on port matched iron. More top end. Originally thought (before install) that I'd loose some signal to the carb. Proved to be no problem.

4-holer for bottom end torque, open for top end HP.
