Getting closer to the getting the blower in. Overview is that I am going blow though supercharger with about 5psi boost. I have a very good
Bigs 950HP that I have a little over $800 in. This carb has been CNC ported and flows very well. Except for being cold blooded it works great.

    Here are my options:
    1. Use as is with rejetting as needed.
    Cheap and no down time.
    2. Send to Bigs, CS or ProSystem to let them modify. This will cost $200 to $300 and leave me looking for a carb to borrow for a few weeks.
    3. Sell the carb and buy a new blow through carb. I would be lucky to get $600 for a basically new carb. But would have a new carb quick.

    Any thoughts?

If it was me, I would probably sell. You have a pile of money put in the carb to run well on your current application. To convert to blow thru I would start over with a new slate and unmodified carburetor (and money in your pocket).

I have allot of time researching this and as un-adept as I am, I think that I convert a cheap Holley into a working blow thru. The basic conversion appears to be pretty easy. It is that fine tuning and experimenting that could take time to perfect: boost reference power valves, extended bowl vents, emulsion tubes, air bleeds, etc.

I have not heard many good things on the blow thru Mighty Demons and would avoid them. I have a pair of Holley’s I am converting right now, a 750DP and an HP 830DP. On a blow thru application, it appears that, it does not take much carburetor. Your 950 could be too big to start with and may be tuff to tune and jet down. A common 750's double pumper is a very popular carb to convert, even for big blocks. One thing that does appear beneficial is annular boosters. The air signal to the carburetor is supposedly more responsive, and those are what I sourced to start with. We will see. Mine are like brand new off of EBay and I paid a cheap $85 and $125. Search EBay for poor titles; Holly, Annual Boosters, specific Holley carb model numbers 9371, 9389, etc.

Here is the DIY conversion blow thur bible. HTH :beer

If you would keep me posted on what you run into doing the Blow-through carb conversion, I have a 800DP I'm planning to getting around to doing one. As I'm sure you know, it's cheaper learning from others triumphs and failures. I have the hanger article bookmarked, I need to save it all in case something ever happens to the site. They're a great bunch of guys.:TU:
