i have a 10.1 compression 455 motor,i have a 750 speed demon carb on it,my question is i took my finger and put it in my tail pipes and alot of black soot was on my finger,would that say that it is running rich.or should i check some plugs,car gets horrible gas mileage.probably 10 maybe.also how do you make sure the carb is running correct.RAY ________ LovelyWendie
Normal, todays unleaded gas will always color the tailpipe black. If you are really rich, the plugs will tell you better. Bad mileage? What's your total timing, and are you running vacuum advance?
