Ok, here's the thing. Yesterday while the weather was nice I took advantage, took the car for a little spin, no problems at all since I didn't take it very far due to the tranny problem, came home, thought I might do a little maitenance check on the fluids and everything, ayyy-ok, untill I check the air filter in the breather, and find an oil and gas mixture in the bottom of the breather, im like what the heck is happenin here, take off the breather, take some paper towels, dry it out, dry and clean the filter, and come back out to look down at the carb. and gas is stuck in it. Bad float or all around bad carb.? Car doesn't spit sputter or doesn't act like the carb. is bad but I know something is wrong just by looking at it. Any ideas? Im planning on doing a load of work to this car in summer and that includes a swap of the motor, but I would like to know what this problem is as well. Thanks :TU:

Seems as the 231 V6 was famous for this. I've seen it plenty in the past. Evidence of oil blow-by may be a faulty PCV valve or your rings may not be sealing very well anymore if it's a high mileage car. If you're doing an engine swap, I wouldn't worry too much about it. But I know where you're coming from. You still like to know what kind of gremlin is in your engine.

Could be one of the 2 or both even. The car does smoke a tiny tad bit on start up and my mechanic said it sounds like the PCV valve as well, but like I said, the motor should hold up until I am able to get a readily 350 to go in in place of the 231 :TU:

The first thing I replaced on my regal when I got it was the pcv valve.
