Hello everyone, I have a quick question. I have a 65 Lesabre 300/Carter 4 barrel. If I let it sit a day or so I have to crank the engine a long time before she will start. It seems like the fuel is draining out of the carb. And cranking it pumps new fuel into the carb. Has anyone come across this problem ? Am I on the right track ? Thanks Tony
Hi Tony Try flooring the throttle one or two times quickly before starting. That will prime the engine with fuel before startup. I don think the fuel bowls are emptying. its the whole intake system underneath the carb that lacks fuel because of vaporization
Carb. clean ? Linkage clean ? Choke set properly ? o No: Check these also just for grins ! :3gears: :TU:
Everything clean, Tried to pump the pedal a few times and then start it. It starts, runs for a few seconds and stalls. Crank it again it starts and runs. This is better but not how it should be. Maybe I expect to much from a 39 year old car. Tony
