I just picked up a 64 lark and the guy says it has a 355 from a wildcat in it. Well it runs like crap and I think it needs a new carb which one? I went to holley site and don't have a clue what would work in this beast. A little background and help is welcome.

Why does it have to be a new one? Why not rebuild what you have and enjoy correctly fitting throttle linkage, fuel line, vac lines, choke linkage, etc.?

ditto what Dev says,,, and I might add,,, first make sure that the engine is in good electrical tune..... good wires , dist cap &rotor,,,, spark plugs,,, and timing set.... then think about rebuilding the carb... most of the time when a engine is running bad, it is electrical not the fuel system.....:Brow: :Brow:

I am having the same running like crap problem i did a basic tune wires plugs cap but not rotor or timing set it's having a hard time starting and hesitating while I'm driving hesitates pretty bad and sometimes cut off on me. I've also dumped like 2 or 3 cans of carb cleaner in it.
P.S. I'm not a thread jacker I saw you problem and recognized it right away.

ok,,,, a ebrock of around 600 cfm will be the easiest to install on that engine... are you aware of the 11 to 1 compression ratio of the 300 ''optional'' engine???? It requires the highest octane fuel that you can get your hands on.... but you could lower it by putting thicker head gaskets on it .... another carb and my choice would be a 600 to 650 cfm holley .....but then, I aint known for doing the easiest thing....
