Hello, I just purchased a 66 buick GS. Seller says it has been in the same family in California since it was new till a couple of years ago when it was sold to Wisconsin. I bought it from a dealer in Missouri.
It is a car that has been for sale on ebay and I clicked the buttom that should enable you to get the history of the car. I was transfered to another web page and filled in the VIN number. But this failed to work as the 66 GS has only 13 digits in the VIN number and 17 was required. I then asked via the ebay chatroom and was told that vehicles older than 1981 could not benefit from that service but I could ask some local office in the state where the car was right now. Unfortunately I have not been able to find this office in Missouri, and if the car is located at a dealer I guess he don't register all his sales cars in his own name but just transfer the title from the previous owner to the new one. That is what we would do in Denmark.

So is there another way I can find the history of the car? I don't think there's anything wrong , just to make sure. VIN is 446176Z116430

    Regards from Jette

BigBlock68 Love that old car smell.

There are some companies that will search all national records for you, for a nominal fee of course.
