Car history

    Hi I got very fast and good answer on my last question so i will try with another one
    Is there any way to find out information about the car i have
    with information i mean owner history who purchased it and so on
    i would like to get in contact with the previus owner(s)
    The car is fro 1972 and sold in CA.

    I would think you would have to go to the DMV and get them to some how get the previous owners name phone number whatever. This is illegal however.

    Well, here in the states....

    Go to the county recorder & records and do a title search. They will give a list of names and address of all previous owners within that county, public knowledge (your tax dollars at work).:TU:

    Title search

    The last time I contacted the California DMV they told me that if a car has not been registered in that state in the last 7 years, then it is purged from the system and there is no information available. And even if the car is still in the system the privacy laws have changed and all they will give you are the names of the previous owners, no address or phone #. You may think that would really help but CA is the most populated state in the USA, and I got several hundred matches for the name I was searching for, Rafael Hernandez.

    In my home state of TN you can no longer get title searches due to privacy laws, I used to do them very frequently for friends, now it's basically impossible unless you have an inside source.
