Last time I bought a car cover on eBay (you know, those sucking items that invade your screen when you type "Buick Centurion" in the search engine), the cover was at least 30' too short. :ball: The vendor was fair enough to reimburse me without any discussion when I informed him, and I then paid him back 1/2 of the cost as I could partly use the car cover when the car is in the garage.

But I am fed up stretching my cover and using towels to cover the missing ends, and want to buy a new one. (one of those cheap 20 to 40$ grey ones).
Who has experienced a similar purchase and can provide a good seller address, and the CORRECT size to fit my convertible ? thanks

I got a cover for my car off of ebay for I think $40. It fits with no problem, but unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the place...I think it shipped from California though. Hope that helps a little!

I have one of those grey chep 22$ ones from evilbay. It fits fine, but it doesn't hold out dirt or moisture. I had my car covered for a month, and it looked just as dusty as if the cover hadn't been on. If it rains, the car still gets wet. It does have a good fit, so it is stretched over the back window where the rain goes into the trunk, so at least it took care of that problem.

Get the biggest one you can find. I bought a size 4 - supposed to fit a car 19 feet long.....NOT QUITE!

    I needed a size 5.

I did find one at AutoZone. I think it was a size 5 as Adam mentions. I think I tried four or five stores. It was pretty cheap as I recall. I got the really light duty one to basically just keep some of the garage dust off and hold up my side protection barriers (for the SUV parked next to it). But I think they did have other heavier duty ones.

It doesn't exactly keep ALL the dust off (being so thin), but it's better than nothing.

Following your advises, I finally found an XXL one given for 5.7 metres which is exactly the size given for the Centurion (Sorry, I feel too lazy toniht to translate into feet.. )
It fits perfectly. Exacly the same grey cheap stuff that looks like paper (I guess it is paper indeed !) The only dfference is that it came with a zip at the drivers door's place that you can open without taing all the cover off.

Will use the old one for my future Mini Cooper. :Brow:

The size 5 I bought barely fits my Continental. The hood ornament is so tight under the cover that I stack books on the hood so there is no tension on the ornament. The same cover fits my Electra since it has a sleeker, rounder, more efficient design.

I can tell you that with my "paper" style material, the hood ornament would have gone through the cover at the first trial ! :Brow:

I am really getting tired of the "covers" than never keep the dust off the car or the spiders or bird crap (when they decide to nest in the garage for the winter :Dou:
I think I'm going to break down and get one of those bubble type capsules and just put the ol' girl into hibernation for the winter. I think they run around 350.00 or so.

Anyone have any experience at all with this type? (sorry, not trying to steal the thread)

I am afraid that a good "inside"car cover needs to respire otherwise you create consensation and then rust...
And if the cover respires, it is not absolutely water proof, and depending on the way you feed your birds, the crap may go through.... :pp :pp

I use the cover just for keeping dust and the stupid cat off the car while it's in the garage. She started to sleep on the roof and would get footprints all over the place, so I broke down and bought the cover.

Here was a thread about those bubble things. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=85892

Covers are CRAP !!! I've had at least 20 of them over the years. Expensive ones, cheap ones, etc. etc.etc.

I keep my Most Optioned G.N. in a garage that is horrible...dust, leaves, fine dirt grit, you name it. After it's in there for 6 months or so when I open the door it looks like an abondoned car.
All I do is pull it out, blast it real good with a hose, then wash it twice with a very soapy solution and it always turns out looking great.

Covers do more damage to a car in my opinion !
