Just got back from a week long vacation visiting my family in Alaska. We don't do all the "normal" things like fishing/hunting/getting attacked by wild animals while I'm up there. I put some big block springs in and rebuilt the front end in my dad's El Camino, helped put a cage in my little brother's Firebird, helped him start with the new rear diff in his Grand National, went to a car show where he win some trophies with his Roadrunner, then we went to the drags (saw my first nitro engine explode on the starting line, there's you tube somewhere of the blower flying right by the cameraman. I'll post if I can find it). We fired up my little bro's 63 Riv major project and drove it around the block, then went and drank beers with the old school fellas that are redoing his Satellite (new roof, quarters, fenders, k-member), and messed with my dad's Skylark drag car that's waiting on the new engine to get done at the dyno shop.....there's definitely more Mopar guys up there per percentage than here. That body guy had two Super Bees just sitting in the weeds outside and a 383 powered Camaro/Ferrari kit car. Weirdos. My older brother just got his green Power Wagon and we're putting an alcohol motor in his Demon......here's some pics of the familys collection, some at the body shop with that guy's mint 68 GTX and weed ornament Mopars, and some drag photos. Lots of 8 second door slammers up there.....
Sounds like what I get involved with on my "Off" time. If it doesn't have something to do with the 4G's (gears, grease, gas or guts) I'm usually not interested. Tom T.
That roadrunner with those graphics are bad azz bro.. I love that old school stuff. As a youngster I would check out my buddy's old hot rod magazines when they even showed vans all decked out.. That's why I did my impala old school and not a typical Lowrider... More pics of the roadrunner .
Thanks. Roadrunner was painted in '72 and put away in '77. We bought it at Barrett Jackson and we've had our time with it. Going to be going up for sale, or taking it to Scottsdale this year. All numbers matching mint 4 speed car with crazy paint job....
I've got interior and engine pics somewhere.....but its got about 70k original miles on it. An actual barn find from Canada
By the way, that Polar Express car is a factory original Hemi powered drag car. A rolling 9 second piece of drag racing history....
I love my Buick but I would really like to get my hands on a '69 SC/Rambler! I know the AMC guys are supposed to be weird and all that, I guess I will fit in!
AMCs are sweet! I wouldn't mind a '70 Javelin myself.....but I've already got too many brands of engines I need to know how to work on
I went to Eilson AFB years ago and went to a VFW or American legion off base to have a beer and right across the road was this junk yard. I asked the guy if I could walk thru and he said yes. Oh my some of those cars looked like they were parked there just the day before. Most had busted blocks from freezing. If I had a car hauler at the time boy oh boy.
