A friend of mine has a 69 GS 400 Skylark that was built in Canada and the rear end cover is a 12 Bolt cover. My question is will it be a 12 Bolt differential or a 10 Bolt differential? The car is presently mired in a mud bog (we don't want to craw under it at this time) and remove the cover and was wondering what to expect when we do get the cover off. On the off chance this is actually a 12 bolt differential will a 12 Bolt Chevy differential interchange with it? Thanks for any info. :Do No:

Canadian built, it should have a Mckinnon cast & built 12 bolt c-clip. Basically the hsg was cast differently than same year Chevelle 12 bolt, the 30 spline c-clip axles are different, & the pinion flange will be a 3R. Normal 12 bolt chevy internals. When your friend gets this rear out, feel free & post ay legible casting numbers or stamped codes.

    Got Posi?

Ok walk me through this. Will/Will not a Chevy 12 Bolt posi unit fit in this housing with lets say Chevelle axles? I know you said the Buick is different but will the housing accept the Chevy stuff? If not is there a Buick posi that will fit in this housing? I've only worked with the GN 8.5 and the Chevy 12 Bolt so excuse the questions if they sound dumb. Thanks for any help.
