Big block Impala? Just a guess!

I think thats the base for a ram air setup on a big-block A-body Buick. Then curved sections attach to each inlet and the foam air seals top it all off. Just my guess.

Air inlets are too big and too far apart to be a Buick..

    gs4u2c Is that a 442?

Late 70's early 80's Chev, high output engines. Like 1978-80 Impala police, big block 78-80 trucks and I think Corvettes used the same base with a chrome lid.

Sure! That's Bob, he plays cribbage down the the pub every Thursday...

Sorry, I've not had any cofee this morning and I'm typing froma borrowed terminal. That's a mid-late 80's Camaro air cleaner. A local guy here races with one and I weaseled the answer out of him.

    Clint,
I went down to the pub yesterday, but could not find Bob. There was a Bubba there...he was not playing cribbage...he was knitting a new sweater for the Mrs. He does great work his fingers are so nimble, and his speed and accuracy are phenomenal.

    Thanks for the info.

Looks like a mid 60s unit from a chevrolet big block 396 or 427. They used the term turbo jet from about 65 yr when they came out with the big block. The dual snorkel probably came from a heavy duty truck. I shure wish I could find one like that. :Brow:
