Can a carpet be dyed?

I have bought a green carpet for my 73 Buick and it is ok, but the color is not the shade of green that I wanted. Even the dark green is not dark enough for my taste AND it has faded everywhere except where the mats were and its only been a year or so....

Can this carpet or other new ones like it, be dyed to the exact color I want. Im not looking for original color. If the color is similar..

Yes. Carpet and door panels are dyed all the time.

 

cool, do you have any more info? Is there a good product/process discussed in this forum? or maybe you ahve first hand info? what about the hard plastic kick panels on door panel bottoms?

 

I looked for a couple minutes on buickperformance.com, but just search here and you will find the recommended type. I want to say SEM or something....
