    Ok now another problem.This is a 66 425.
Pulled my spare engine apart and found 1 lobe almost worn round. Hardly opens the valve.

What is the camshaft of choice for a little better performance at the lower end of the scale. Idle to 3500 RPM.
    Who makes them?
What's the story about lifters? :Do No:

Hank check out TA Performance, Carmen , Tom Telesco they are all listed under Da Nailhead Parts sources.
Lifters can still be had from NAPA I think, or you can go with some trick Schubeck ones $$$$$

Those engines were already optimized for low RPM so if you want your power to be concentrated 3500 and under, you will want to use a stock cam or an RV grind. Here is a link to the Nailhead camshafts that TA offers:

    http://www.taperformance.com/nailhead_&_v6_cams.htm

Though the RV12 grind is not shown on the chart we can have it made, it would be similar to the 112 listing with the exception of the intake duration, it will be 205 on the RV12. These cams are ground on new blanks, not used originals.

Lifters are readily available, as well as other valve train parts such as the springs, if needed.

    Thanks for the Info

What about the rocker arm tips?
Are they replaceable, looks like they are in the manual I have.
Some are worn to the point of grooves in them

    Exhaust

    Dave

I visit the T/A site a lot and would like to get the 2.5 inch exhaust system for my 66 Riv. Thinking of getting the shorty headers also. I know I'll have to either modify or have the front pipes made because of the nailhead. But the rest of the exhaust is the same as 67 Riv with a 430.

Carmen Faso rebuilds the rocker assemblys. 716-693-4090
    Better get new pushrods.

    Re: Exhaust

DAVE, you and I have the same problem. I need a '66 exhaust too. See my post from today in 'the bench', 'dishonest advertising chaps my rear'.

Maybe if we gang up on T/A they will listen!:spank:

Seems like they always leave out the '66, whether it's an exhaust pipe or an ignition switch.

There's some clown running around here with a Porsche something with a huge spoiler on the back. His plate says "GOT Tork"- that plate belongs on a Buick.

    I hate that guy.:spank:
