does anyone know the cam end play for '74 455? I might put an adjustable cam bumper on the inside of the timing chain cover to eliminate cam walk as shown in "The Buick Engine Book". And how do I musure the end play? Can i use a fella gauge? any help would be awsome, Thanks!~ Vin

Really not necessary with a 455.....the cam pushes to the back of the block when it's running.

Are you using hyd. lifters? If so, no need becasue they will keep the cam in place. If you install rollers, then yes in both directions.
