Cam Shaft change

    Is there a way of changing the cam shaft in a 74 350 with out taking the motor out. And if so do I also need to remove the intake manifold.

    yes, you can do it in the car. the radiator and any coolers in front of it will have to come out. the intake and valve covers must come off, since you'll have to pull the lifters, and hence the pushrods and rockers as well.

    it's not a big proposition. a days work, most likely.

    Of course the timing cover and distributor have to come off. However, I think the only accessory bracketry that needs removed is the one upper arm for the alternator. I did one in my Regal last year. It wasn't a bad job at all.
