    Hi All,
I was ordering some cam bearings for my Stage 1 and I think I read on this forum some where that it was a good Idea to go with a grooved cam bearing, who makes the grooved cam bearing for the Buick 455?? I was looking at a "coated" bearing I believe it was called is this any better than the grooved bearing?? All help would be appreciated I really don't want my engine blowing up on me when I drop it in my car. Thanks for any help you can give me.

The reason for the grooved cam bearings is so oil can make it to the driverside head. In fact, the grooves are on the outside of the bearings, not the inside. otherwise, the drivers side head and lifters only get oil through the front groove around the first Cam bearing journal, which is a pretty poor design. the grooves in all the cam bearings insure more oil to the driver side, and in the event of a front cam bearing failure, the oil isn't starved to the driverside. I'd get the kit from postons or year one, that connects the two oil passages. :Do No:

TA has dual grooved coated cam bearings, that is what I used. They also have the HD rod & mains...:TU:
