Hello all. I have a cam with under .470" lift (TA212), with stock cam bearings that are in good shape. The stock valve springs work fine, when I installed the 212, I kept the original springs. I am considering a more powerful cam. If I put something with a similar lift, but more duration, should I be comfortable keeping the current cam bearings and springs installed? If so, I want to put a wanted ad in for a used 113 cam or similar, see what pops up. I will be doing a head swap soon, and I just was thinking of doing a cam swap at the same time. I want to buy used because I am slowly building another short block, but due to my current $$$ situation , that might slow down a bit (buying/setting up the Al heads made me very poor for a few months, if I hit the credit card again, I will get a spanking from the wife, and not the good kind of spanking). The cam I all ready have is too radical for the current springs and bearings, exh. is 542 w/1.60 arms. Technical advice would be great!
    Thank you.

I've always been a believer that when you do a cam swap(especially a used cam) always get new bearings. To me, it's kind of like changing a piston without changing the rings, or a rod without changing the bearings. I would tend to think that they become 'mated' to each other with a matched wear pattern. I don't think that two worn parts will match. Just my opinion.
