Well, I was cruising down Refugee Rd. on the east side of Columbus today, and I spotted a very nice looking 69ish Skylark (Maroon 2 door) going the opposite direction. I then thought to myself, what other old Buicks are lurking around here. o No: So here's my idea, lets get together sometime here in the Columbus area. Not a drag race meet, just a get together for a few beers (or pop if you desire), and to shoot the "crap". There's not many of us I'm sure, so we gotta stick together! Let me know, I live in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. :beer :beer :beer
car is there-i am not well, my car is in dublin actually-my friend, this summers "keeper of the car" is minding it for me in between the bpg race in august and the norwalk rain date in sept. he has had it out once or twice since i left it there (left him strict orders not let it sit all summer!!) and he reports amazing crowds being drawn wherever he stops moving in it. he has no computer access but i could try and send him around if you guys pick a meeting place/time. i do know he is planning on hitting the quaker steak and lube cruise nite on morse road or somewhere on a sunday nite.
Already a show in Columbus July 9-10 the 22nd annual Arthritis Foundation Auto show is being held at the Wyndham Dublin Metro Center. The Central Ohio chapter of the BCA hosts a show within the show. Usually a very respectable group of Buicks show up for this. There are many activities that happen at this and it's a great time. Check in with Mike and Nancy Book 614-472-3939 for more details. This would make for an easy option for any and all to get together.
Thanks Keith! I will definently be there in July. Unfortunently, my Skylark is FAR from being show worthy, unless it's dark out, and the judges are drunk:grin: I would still like to have a little less formal get together sometime. Anyone else interested?
ALRIGHT! What's it gonna take??? Let's get some people together...wives/girlfriends invited! (or both:Brow: ) How about Roosters or something (Whitehall)? I will put up the first $50.00 of the tab!:beer :beer :ball:
BTW folks, our Buick is currently in the area at National Trails Dragway, Raceway...whatever.. you know the one.... This is for the NHRA Pontiac Nationals where we are the defending champion. Stop by if you get a chance. Safe Trips!
Well I guess you can consider me Columbus... im acutally about 10 miles south on 37 from the track... (baltimore, millersport) me and my dad got 4 buicks out here.... my 81 regal/455, dads TSM 86 GN, my 74 stage 1 sun coupe and another regal we picked up... we know about every turbo guy around here... I only know a few big block guys... but we got all kinds of buick toys out here.
Don't give up yet, Derek. I think it is a great idea. Right now I'm up to my armpits with alligators getting the BPG Nats set up. After that is over, I'll have some time, too. MAY ( I stress MAY) be able to convince the better half to "host" it at our humble abode. Have 5 acres to park Buick's in :Brow: . Maybe a fall event (September sometime?). Cooler weather, generally dry...what ya think? I'm north of Marysville by about 5 miles off St Rt 31. Think people would drive 1/2 - 1 hour? Marysville is 17 miles from I 270 up US 33. It takes us about 20-25 minutes to get to Dublin.
Hey Regal455, I was in Millersport AND Baltimore yesterday! I was putting some miles on the Skylark to "season" the new brakes (per the instructions from Baer). Anyways, its a 30 or so minute drive for me. Small world hey? Brad, ok, I won't give up yet. I think the fall would be nice, however, I am getting married in October. Let's just say busy is an understatement. I would still love a get together of some sort....
My in-laws live south of Lancaster, OH. And my brother-in-law is near Millersport. I'll be out during Thanksgiving. How about then??? I'll NEED THE ESCAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:beer
I would enjoy getting together, my wife also. Love to meet some other Buick owners. I would be open as to where. I’m in Reynoldsburg have been pretty much all my life and have 2 Buick’s. A 68 skylark and a 69 GS. Where in Reynoldsburg are you Derek? Pm me if you like. I’d be scared of leaving my car in the parking lot at Whitehall roosters because I’ve seen that lot completely full. I’d be nervous of less respectful people looking to get there beer and wing fix or having gotten their beer and wing fix, versus them making sure they don’t ding or bump a car. Pickerington roosters has more space to park. Or I can go stag and leave the B at home.
