KC Wade and all other interested parties. Here are some of the specifics on this original and I do mean original un-molested 70 Skylark. This information is from the Sloan pedigree. 43537-0K-******. Sold new to Van Male Buick in Chicago at 7501 S. Western Ave. This dealer was huge back in the 1970's, weren't they all, but I believe they are long gone now. Original invoice price was $3362.42. Paint code NN1 , Burgundy Mist with a white top and perfect white interior. 350 2 barrel , auto on the column with factory A/C. Original paint and appears that it has never been in an accident or hit. Floors and trunk are clean and solid along with the grille. Core support has the minimal wear under the battery tray. Cowl, chrome and glass are gorgeous. I can go into greater detail for serious buyers. PM me with ????. I have 5 other GS's and I know what and where to look for previous repairs, both mechanical and body wise. I will store this car until Spring 2009 upon full payment if that suits the new collector. Some have suggested cloning this into a Stage 1. I personally do not clone cars but the condition of this car would deserve a correct transformation. How many Burgundy Mist's are still out there? The price is firm and no trades please. Regards, Upstaged in SW Michigan.

GS John, I will try to post some additional pictures of the motor, interior and trunk later this week. I am busy prepping my pole barn for Winter here in Michigan. 16 cars and counting!!! The only reason I am offering this 1970 Skylark for sale is because my 1972 Stage 1 convertible is done, done. You can view it under Member's Rides posted as 1 of 15, which it is. LMK what you think of my Stage 1. It has been a 5 year challenge but it sure is worth it all. Upstaged in Michigan.

I honestly do not know if they produced any Burgundy Mist Stage 1's in 1970-1972. Marco or JKC may have the information and production #'s. As they say, It is only original once and this car is indeed. I have further Sloan information for it and I did find a Montgomery Wards (remember them ? ) set of windshield wipers still in the package in the trunk. I also found one tear in the front driver's seat about 2 inches long in the waffle material. Regards, Upstaged in Michigan.

I know they produced at least one, as I recall Scott Miller having one for awhile.

Thanks for the update , Marco. The Burgundy Mist Stage 1 looks menacing but I wonder about the black vinyl top. Mine has a white vinyl top and matching interior. Regards, Upstaged in Michigan.

Gorgeous weather this weekend is the forecast. The 1970 is stored for the Winter but I do plan on being out with my Stage 1 convt. Regarding the Burgundy Stage 1, by menacing I meant almost sinister looking. I do have all of the parts to convert it to a Stage 1 but as I stated earlier, I personally do not clone muscle cars. Regards, Upstaged in Michigan.

Jim's car is Titian Red - a 'special red', as it was a 'Rivera-only' color.

Here's another burgundy mist stage1 4-speed car (out of NY), owned by the original owner's son

As always, Thanks Marco. Another Burgundy but no white vinyl top? Still a cool car. Have you done anything with my pictures yet? Regards, Upstaged in Michigan.

Nothing with the pictures. I've been buried at work for the past two months (very, very good thing), and I (hopefully) expect to be busy through the end of this year.

My website has taken a back seat as any free time is spent either with my family or sleeping

    It will get done...:beer

Marco, I know what you mean about alot of hours at the job. I am working 60 per week myself! I was just informed that Whirlpool Corp. is laying of approx. 300 employees. They are nearby in Benton Harbor/ St. Joseph Michigan and alot of my buds "used" to work there. Good people who also enjoy our hobby but both the times and the hobby are looking pretty dismal. I also have and original burgundy mist Stage 1. Mine was originally shipped and sold in Ashland, KY. The original owner's son is a member here on the list, and provided some very interesting history on my car. :pp

It' not exactly BM right now, my dad had it painted about 10 years ago, and the only place that still has the original paint is the inside of the trunk lid. I thought about changing the color to a black cherry type of color when I get it to that stage (god only knows when that might be though), but think that I'll probably change it back to the original color.

I have only seen one other BM car, but it had a white vinyl top and I can't remember if it was a Stage 1 or not.

Scott, I like the car. Is it the one in your avatar? BM with a white top is way cool! You mentioned the re-paint. Black Cherry is a different color but these color combos have to be very, very scarce. Especially these days. More pics would be great. Upstaged in Michigan.

Yep, that's the one in the avatar. That was the last day it was on the street, I broke a rocker arm later that night and one thing led to another and it's now sitting in pieces in my garage. Once we bought our house, time just seemed to get the better of me and there seems to always be something that takes priority over the car. But, my wife wants me to get it done while we're still young enough to enjoy it. :pp

My biggest problem is that I've only got a one car garage and no space to store our normal day-to-day stuff that we use, and it ends up cluttering the garage. So, during the winter, I have to put the car on hold since I can't put the stuff outside. Hopefully in the spring I'll get me shed and then the housing market will rebound in the next couple of years and I can dump this one car garage, no storage spaced house, and get a house with at least a 2.5 car garage or pole barn, and basement for storing stuff.

I am partial to the white interior / top myself but the color of the paint is what really makes this car stand out. I cannot explain the difference between Burgundy Mist and Purple but it has to be a rare color for GM in any year of production. Upstaged in snowy Michigan.
