I actually just visted this forum, because I need the same exact thing, but in California. A Buick Skylark bumper is very tough to get straight, and they are all bent.

Who have you guys used in California (or Nevada where the hazmat rules are lenient)

As a suggestion, based on considerable experience, if you mean straighten in the sense of say to make sure the horizontal ends are parallel to the headamp door bottoms, you need to do this yourself. Bend and test fit it before sending it out. If you mean, for instance, a circular dent in a rear bumper that is otherwise staight on the horiziontal some will take these out and some will not. They do this type of repair with a hammer and a dolly and/or a press. I am unaware of any that have a jig to spec out these Buick bumpers.

You can FedEx a Skylark bumper for $20-50.... I ship them from FL to TN for $23 each. FedEx main corporate shipping center is in Memphis TN.

Last one I sent boxed to Tri City cost $150. I like their work and they will remove dings but they do not have a jig. I will say that when they shipped me one about a month ago their return UPS rate was about $60 and you know they must have the best rates as much volume as they do.

    $150....sheesh.

Don't box the bumper...just wrap it completely around with cardboard and tape it up like a mummy. A wrapped bumper is :

    Front 28 lbs
    Rear 39 lbs.

Depends on where the bend is. It might require a press or you might be able to just stand on it.

George, I will bet a 71 rear bumper weighs alot more than 39 pounds if that is 70 figure. I almost got a hernia lifting mine yesterday.

I recently used Desert Dog on a rusted out with holes and bent N-25 bumper . They patched the holes and made it straight .They claim they have jigs to fit the bumpers. I dont think anyone in the business can beat there price of $300. The chrome isnt show but not priced as if it was.I know most places wont even touch a dented or rusted bumper.Shipping is only $35 from NY to IL just shrink wrap it an send it
