I just got in my first set of new Bulldog 455 heads. I did a quick valve job so I could get some out of the box numbers and then did a quick bowl cleanup and cleanup just inside the runners to blend in form the cnc maching.

here are the results thus far, we aint done yet

    out of the box

    lift intake exhaust
    .100 79 72
    .200 153 127
    .300 207 167
    .400 256 189
    .500 281 206
    .600 n/a 216
    .700 n/a 224
    .800 n/a 228

now with just the intial cleanup

    .100 79 72
    .200 153 130
    .300 210 175
    .400 270 197
    .500 313 215
    .550 322 did not measure
    .600 328 228
    .700 337 237
    .800 n/a 246
    max lift n/a 254

These are very preliminary results. I have posted pictures of the production castings on my site www.paeenterprises.com under new products

note, no flow tube was used on the exhaust.

SO far, I am very impressed with this head. This stg-1 head should perform like a stg-2 head, the exhaust numbers on this thing are wicked. Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES

    Just for comparison:

A while back Jim said this about the untouched TA aluminum head: The stg-1 alum heads will flow right at 280 on the intake and 180 on the exhaust with just a valve job and no bowl blending or chamber work. While this is good, it is way better to do the extra little work and get them up to 310 to 315 on the intake and 220 to 230 on the exhaust. Jim Burek

And TriShield got these numbers on the TA heads after some work: "blended bowl and chamber work, ports untouched"
    Lift ........Intake ............. Exhaust
    .100 .........72......................61
    .200..........160...................126
    .300..........221...................173
    .400..........280...................205
    .500..........306...................225
    .600..........316...................236

Very nice numbers indeed Jim. Very good results from Bulldog! There should be plenty of fast big block Buicks at next years GS and BPG Nationals!

Let's see... do I finally do the interior I've saved so long for and want so badly, or do I dip deep into the 12's??? Decisions, decisions, decisions.

    Production castings?

    Really.. production castings?

So the spark plug holes and accessory bolt holes are an option you didn't select?

This is the only picture I could find on your site.

    what gives?

Jim B , arent the Bulldog heads the ones that were to have the place to run chevy roller rockers on or is that something I read and didnt know what I was talking about?

That must be an early proto type I flowed one of these heads early last week and it gave me similar numbers I flowed it out of the box. With only the bulldog work done. It had there as shipped V-J and only clean up of the edge of the cnc work. And I can assure it had bolt holes and spark plug holes

Yeah, We've decided that spark plug holes and acc holes are items that the customer can take care of himself. You know, helps keep the cost down.

Ok, so I did not get a chance to get the pictures posted yesterday, I thought they had been put on the sight. Sorry. Jim Burek

The intake is 2.19 and the exhaust is 1.81. 11/32 stems with an undercut. The head will accept a 2.25 inch valve, no need to change seats. The full potential of these is still yet to be seen. Jim Burek

Mike, that was originally talked about and I thought it was going to happen, but he changed his mind. Jim Burek

Ya, I figured that Jim.. just having some fun with ya'... :pp

Heads look interesting, but I have shelves full of aluminum BBB heads... I do like the chamber, and the stock valve sizes.

Now,tell him to get to work on that Block!

Will these be priced competitively with the TA heads? When will they be ready for the buick enthusiasts?

    Thanks

Actually, that is exactly waht he is doing right now. He had a couple of small issues with the block, not so much casting it but having more to do with machining that he finally got straigtened out.
It does look like they should be pouring a block this comming week.
Honestly, he is only a one man shop with a couple of helpers, and there are no deep pockets behind trying to fund this stuff, so he works on it the best he can with the resources he's got. Anyway, that's the current scoop. Jim Burek

The heads will be competively priced. Maybe a few dollars one way or the other. They are availble for ordering now. I have about 6 sets due me right now, they are all for current engine products, but if I get orders in , we can get more. Jim Burek

If i ordered a pair when would you estimate i would have them to put on the motor? Are they assembeld or bare? If assembeld can you have them sent with daul springs etc...

    Thanks
