Found this in the Asheville, NC Craigslist..... https://asheville.craigslist.org/pts/d/asheville-455-buick-big-block/6996501612.html I'm sure the motor is still good! The rod only came thru the pan, not the side of the block!?! Nice Pink paint too....
"when done you’ll see what type of power and work has been done to this motor". Ya I am sure as you tear it down you will see the custom work, like the "shaven heads".
I would be the guy to say pull a head and let's see what's been done... like the work the piston did on the head before the rod broke the bottom of the cylinder before it went out the pan. I had a 403 olds with a rod sticking out the pan and you would have had to sleeve 1 or 2 cylinders, new crank, new rods, new pistons, and bearings and gaskets. The reason it didn't take out too much of the head was probably the cast pistons disintegrated before it got there.
I think I will text him and ask if that bad rod can be pulled the rest of the way out & the pan hole epoxied & run?
