    Greetings all............
I've ordered a Factory Five kit with a September delivery date. Hoping to have a road worthy vehicle by spring of 17.

I was introduced to BBB by Mike Garrison, Topeka, KS. In 2014 I purchased a low mileage cream puff of a GMC long bed, 2WD half ton. It had a slug 350 SBC in it. Mike built and installed a 462 BBB, 73 block and 70 heads. It is essentially stock with mild cam and Qjet 850. Turbo 400, 3.08 posi. When I moved to Eagle, Idaho last summer I towed a 23 ft sail boat on a tandem axle trailer. It was loaded with stuff. The truck bed had a tall camper shell, full of stuff. Set the cruise at 65mph turning 2600rpm. Crossed the continental divide twice at 9000ft. The truck never downshifted. Impressive torque. Thank you Mike!

So........the FFR roadster will weigh about 2200 lbs. My engine is a 72. I am told that the assembly will weigh about 475 with aluminum heads and intake. I am thinking a very mild performance build with 5000-5500 redline. Perhaps a stand alone EFI system with a 200-4r tranny. Clearly, traction is going to be an issue. Factory Five tech indicated that they don't know of anyone who has installed a BBB in one of their kits. I ordered it with SBC engine mounts thinking it will be close. FFR says the engine bay will accommodate an engine up to 30 inches wide. BBB is about 27 inches. May end up using factory exhaust manifolds. Any thoughts and input is appreciated.

This is a great website . Jim Weise thanks for all. I'm making a donation.

Your welcome, glad to have you here..

Your plan sounds right on, go with TA heads on a forged piston shortblock and a mild cam like a TA 212. You very well may be able to tuck in a set of shorty headers.

If you going stand alone EFI, I would recommend a Holley Dominator system, and I am just starting to do some eye catching stuff with intake manifolds..
