Thanks Gents! I'm pretty happy with how the color turned out, the pics don't really do it justice. It also hasn't been wet sanded and buffed yet. But it really changes dramatically depending on how the light hits it.

Benny, it will be getting 15x8 buck ralleys on the front and 15x10 on the rear. I do plan to pick up a set of steelies and paint them body color, but these will be a pinch narrower on the front and have drag radials on the rear for when I want to hook and go. Won't be needing that option for a while though.

Heres a few more pics, it looks like a different color in every picture but I swear its the same, just lighting (and a cell phone camera). I'll post some more once its wet sanded and buffed out, these are by no means the finished product. These were taken during and right after clear was going on, during which the only few currently hatched insects in preble county Ohio decided to go for a swim. But we'll get that fixed in short order.

Best about it is when you start to polish/buff it! :)

Well, its buffed and polished (the tub anyway, hood and fenders won't be done for about a week) and hopefully coming home tomorrow (ironically on my birthday). Overall I'm happy with it. The color is spot on for what I wanted, but there is some shallow orange peel that o could do without. I should've wet sanded more, but that can be done down the road I guess. Given the purpose of the car (and BPG only a month and a half away) it'll suffice for now. It does have a very nice "deep" look to it which I'm happy about. As with any budget build, there are a few small flaws that I can pick out in my sleep, but your average cruise night attendee probably wouldn't catch them. (And if they did, I don't really care!) I'll be picking bug guts off the front and rubber chunks off the rear by then anyway!

looks great Shawn! how many cars do you usually get at the BPG nationals? I am about 3 hours from Norwalk, is it worth the drive?

This should be a very good year for the event. I would highly recommend coming out:TU:

I'll second that. And in my experience it's just as much the interaction as it is the cars.

Agreed. This year being the first year where Buick race day and the BPG Nat's have joined forces, I think it'll be a good year (so long as weather cooperates and such)
Very much agreed! I went to the event for the cars, but I go back for the people. I've made more friends going to this event that I talk with on line but only see at this event, we have an absolute ball every year. I know I'm stoked, its the main motivation for me busting my butt to finish the car.

Congrats and Happy B-day man. I always seem to update you on my build here. So what the heck. I had a set back Friday. One of the extra stage 2 head bolts broke in the block. Luckily after I got the head off the next day it extracted easily but still messed up my plans. I was so ticked when it broke I had to walk away before chucking the torque wrench. So I had to go fishing to clear my head before touching it again lol. Again awesome work. Enjoy it.

Jesse, I like updates no matter what thread its in! Sorry to hear of the set back, but don't feel bad. My bday present showed up today

And instead of starting to put the interior in, I have to pull the trans and figure out why my clutch pedal is FUBAR. Talk about a set back! Oh well, if it was easy everybody would do it...

Yeah maybe a couple years from now I'll have to make a build thread post when I'm getting close lol. And at least it's home. Will see how my Turbo 400 install goes. It's a reverse valve body manual only that was built for a bracket racing Chevy S-10. Should be interesting. Eventually it would be nice to put a custom built unit from CK Performance or Art Carr. Something that could still be thrashed but have OD. Maybe an Allison from a diesel lol. Good luck with the clutch man.

That green d turn out beautifully. When are the fenders and hood going in? You are pretty close to being completed. Drag Justin over for the weekend and you should be able to get the interior installed. Of coarse fix that trans first (at least it doesn't leak lol of coarse I can't say much I guess)

Thanks Ryan. The fenders and hood will hopefully be ready to go back on next weekend. Gonna pull the transmission either tonight or tomorrow and hopefully get that issue worked out quickly. Still lots to do on top of the interior install, gonna be cutting it close. I'm gonna need some help to pull it off for sure, but we'll see I guess.

Well, transmissions out. There was no obvious issue causing the stiff clutch other than the fork wasn't angled properly. I added a spacer to the throwout bearing and although the pivot ball for the fork measured darn close, I backed it out a pinch till the fork appeared to have the proper slight angle I read about on the chevelle forums. I'll get it back in the car in the next day or two, hopefully its right this time (37 days..... )
