Heck yea I would say that's a steal, thanks for sharing your new found sound. 44's just might be in my future. Tony
Sounds really nice. The $36 price for a Made in the USA part is really amazing to me. Think about the cost of materials, labor, overhead for the manufacturer, shipping to Summit, profit for Summit, and it seems almost impossible to sell a nice muffler for $36 but it's true. Thanks for the review and sound clip for us potential buyers on a budget.
Well, chalk that up to "what the heck,?!" Taulb and I were hanging out at a local show and they started handing out awards. Taulb said "you should be ready to get your trophy" and I laughed and said "whatever man, that cars not winning anything". When they said my name, his look of "I told ya so" was hilarious. And I love cupcakes!!! Haha. In all fairness the show was pretty small compared to previous years, the threat of poor weather kept alot of cars away I think. But whatever.... I got to hang out with my buddy, have a few drinks, and look at some cars. That's a win in my book!!!
Thanks! It wasn't a big deal, although I wish it came with a cupcake (did I mention I like cupcakes??) But hey, I'll take it. Means a couple bums in a barn must've done something right!
Congrats! Nice to see a Buick get the respect it deserves. curious if your buddy Taulb ever got him something else after selling his skylark???
Thanks! Taulb doesn't have anything else at the moment. He picked up a cutlass as a project but it escalated for too quickly and decided to pass on it. I'm hell-bent on getting him in another Buick though! He won't admit it, but that's where his heart is!
Tell him I have a green 72 GS that's calling his name. Congrats on the trophy Shawn! Your getting to be one of those trophy hunters:bla:
Funny, I was sitting in the shade listening to some of those trophy hunters whining about not getting awards and it was annoying the crap outta me. Build a car (or aquire one), enjoy it, share it, and don't worry about cheap pieces of shiny plastic! I swear, I'll never worry about that kind of thing. It's a nice Pat on the back, sure, and I'm always appreciative of those who recognize the work that goes into it, but some guys take it way too serious. And if you're talking about that Gs 350 you just got, I don't know who would want it more, him or me!!! (All joking aside, him and I were discussing that car today) I'm in love with it almost as much as your 70 4 speed, and you know how much I love that car! But something about your latest acquisition really is striking. It's official, I'm living vicariously through you in Buick acquisition world....haha
I just found my new favorite YouTube video. You and David Butts are still in my top 3. I got Walker Super Turbos for mine. If it's to quite, I may go that route. Thanks, Jesse Z.
The video doesn't do it justice, but glad you liked it! The idle was a pinch higher then, now it sounds a bit more choppy. But do what I did with David's video, when I needed motivation I cranked up the speakers and just listened to his car thump away! That really lit my fire! Unrelated note, a fun little thing I did. We have precious few hours on this planet, even less is free time. So as a way to give credit where credit is due, I've had all the friends and family that spun so much as a nut or bolt on this car during the project sign the deck lid and I applied a decal letting g people know why. There's more than just my blood sweat and time in this thing, it just so happens I get to reap the most rewards (I.e. driving it when I want!!) There's one very notable signature missing I still have to obtain, one Aaron Estep who supervised the paint and final body work, couldn't have done it without him. But minus his....

[/QUOTE] Now that's an idea you don't see everyday, very cool. Congrats on the trophy too. I have really enjoyed following your build. Tony
I think he is a mythical creature that exists in Buick internet lore. At least, to the extent of my knowledge anyway.... haha
I bought a GoPro but so far I've only been able to figure out how to post a couple videos. I have one where I mounted the camera on the rear bumper and did some spirited acceleration. Man the x-pipe and MagnaFlows sound good outside the car. I rarely hear my car from the outside.
Nice! I too recently got a go pro, but I'm still tinkering with it. I have a few videos that are cool, but am hesitant to post since my insurance agent is a member here....haha. But they are fun little trinkets. I got a harness I can use to strap it to my Doberman when we play ball. It's hilarious!
Thought I felt my ears burning I'm still very much a troll on this site, chiming in only when I can be of use. The old car made her sacrifice to get me out of a jam but I am always looking, I don't think I'll feel complete again until there is another Buick in the garage. Speaking of.. Do tell! Like Shawn said we were marveling over this car very recently haha.
Haha well we shall see! Our local garage talk is something similar "it's only money, it'll grow back" Still waiting for that "grow back" part..
