Cam break in seemed to go good, valve train sounds good (for a notoriously noisy head), oil pressure is good (actually seemingly slightly better than before??). Just went up and down the road, seemed to do fine and I'll swear the idle is smoother. I'm cautiously calling it good (for now). As it stands, its going on the trailer in a couple hours and going to Norwalk. Thanks for playing along fellas.

Heck yeah. So glad to hear it went well man. I'm sure you and the wifey were very relieved. I could imagine now if my car has issues my wife will be more pissed than me about it. Good luck at Norwalk man.

Thanks Jesse. We made it up at 7 last night and drove the car to dinner, no issues so far (fingers crossed).

Congratulations Shawn! I'm glad it ended up working out. The car looks bad-ass in the pics and I bet it sounds that way too! :TU:

Haha, that's one of the most unique compliments I've ever gotten. I dig it! :)

So far the cars been running top notch. Wasn't planning on any track time this year, but maybe Sunday if the mood strikes I'll do a few soft passes. Taulb keeps trying to get me to put his slicks on (his car is hooking like a mofo right now too!)

If you don't run it, you won't know what it can do.

We'll see how it goes down. Our very own Jan (Buickgsrules) has been on me hard to run it (among others), and taulb is up my butt to bolt his drag radials on and give it a go. Sunday if I'm feeling froggy, I may just leap. Just going with it so we'll see.

    ;)

Come on, go down the strip... I mean come on, I'm sure Justin and a few others will help you push it on the trailer if the need arises.

    Well, define irony.....

I still say the story of getting it here is better than the car itself, but nonetheless a huge thanks to the BPG judges for appreciating a grass roots car guys efforts with a directors choice award, and for putting on a great show. Lots of really nice Buicks showed up!

Also, a huge thanks to Taulb (again) for all his help.

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

    The award is well deserved.

You demonstrated great determination to have your car ready and it was fun to follow along online. I hope we can cross paths sometime soon.
